Kristin Cavallari Opens Up About Jay Cutler, Divorce, and Co-Parenting on 'Honestly Cavallari' Premiere

 Kristin Cavallari is getting candid about life after divorce and her evolving relationship with ex-husband Jay Cutler, as revealed during the premiere episode of her new E! series, Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.

In the June 4 episode, the Laguna Beach alum had a heartfelt moment with fellow reality star Kim Zolciak, who is also navigating a public divorce. "I just feel for you," Kristin told Kim backstage during a podcast taping in Atlanta. "It’s so hard going through all that."

Reflecting in a confessional, Kristin—who finalized her divorce from Jay in 2022 after a two-year legal battle—opened up about how public scrutiny can distort the truth. “When you go through something messy in the public eye, there’s always a narrative,” she said. “If someone wants to clear the air or share their perspective, I’m happy to provide that space.”

During their conversation, Kim asked Kristin about Jay’s new fiancée, Samantha Robertson, and how she felt about another woman being around their three children—Camden, 12, Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 9.

Kristin responded with grace, revealing that she had known Samantha even before her breakup with Jay, which helped her adjust. “I could sort of envision their dynamic,” she said.

Despite the calm exterior, Kristin admitted that the decision to divorce wasn’t sudden. “I think deep down I knew it was time,” she shared. “I was unhappy, stressed out, and it had been building for a while. My kids were younger then, so they weren’t exposed to the headlines. Now that they’re older, they’re my top priority.”

In another confessional, she made her stance on relationships clear: “I don’t believe in staying together for the kids. You have to go through dark times to find light. Divorce, when needed, can actually be a good thing.”

As her children grow, Kristin is proud to see reflections of herself in them. “They’ve got all their best qualities from me,” she joked warmly.
