Popular TikTok star Khaby Lame has left the United States voluntarily after being briefly detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) over visa issues.
According to ICE, the social media sensation—full name Seringe Khabane Lame—was taken into custody on June 6 at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, following immigration violations. Lame, an Italian citizen originally from Senegal, had entered the U.S. on April 30 but allegedly overstayed the terms of his visa.
In a statement to Mail Online, ICE said:
“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, June 6, at the Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, for immigration violations. Lame was granted voluntary departure June 6 and has since departed the U.S.”
Lame’s voluntary departure comes as the Trump administration intensifies immigration enforcement, with a surge in arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants since President Trump returned to office earlier this year.
The crackdown has included nationwide raids, and according to officials, hundreds of thousands of non-citizens have already been deported or detained under the new policies.
