The highly anticipated Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 has unveiled a thrilling teaser trailer, introducing Gen Narumi, the formidable seventh captain of the Defense Force’s First Division. The announcement was made at AnimeJapan 2025, along with stunning new visuals of the character.

Set to premiere in July 2025, the new season will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Fans can also look forward to the theatrical release of Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon, arriving in North American theaters on April 13.

About Kaiju No. 8

Based on Naoya Matsumoto’s manga, the anime’s first season was directed by Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya at Production I.G. The series features Ichiro Okouchi as the scriptwriter, Tetsuya Nishio as the character designer, and music by Yuta Bando.

Plot Summary:
In a world constantly under siege by Kaiju, Kafka Hibino once dreamed of joining the Defense Force alongside his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. However, life took them in different directions. Working in a cleanup crew after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa, whose ambition reignites Kafka’s promise to protect humanity.

With Season 2 on the horizon, fans can expect more high-intensity battles, new characters, and an even deeper dive into the Kaiju-filled universe!
